Another sunny day in Akaroa

Yesterday I saw an ad for a company that does 'swim with dolphin' boat trips in Akaroa. Several years ago I worked with dolphins as a volunteer, but I was never able to swim with them. So I thought this would finally be my opportunity! We called the company after breakfast and booked my trip for the afternoon. They said that they weren't sure if they would be able to go out that afternoon because of the rough seas. I was tentatively booked and told to stop by their office early in the afternoon. In the meantime I took off for town and then for a short hike in the hills above town. After lunch I checked in and they said that they were still planning to go out with the dolphins. Cool! I did a little more exploring of the town and then checked in again about 45 minutes before the scheduled departure. They said they had to cancel the trip. Bummer. I was really looking forward to it. Oh well... I just did another hike in the hills, had another dinner on the waterfront and watched another beautiful sunset. It could definately be worse...
